“洋学生”遇见老戏曲:瑞昌采茶戏让国际学生爱上中国非遗


江西九江,202658 —— 九江学院国际教育学院联合九江市文化广电局、九江市文研(非遗)中心,在学校竞知楼阶四教室成功举办了一场别开生面的四海学子学唱瑞昌采茶戏 沉浸体验地方戏魅力展示活动。活动吸引了国际教育学院师生共150人参加,多位国际学生成为课堂上的主角,近距离感受了这一地方非遗戏曲的独特魅力。国际教育学院朱小晶院长主持本次活动。

瑞昌采茶戏九江市级传承人汪茶英以生动活泼、通俗易懂的方式,向在场师生介绍了瑞昌采茶戏的历史渊源、服饰妆容、表演艺术及创新传承。她还邀请学生上台互动,教授兰花掌、兰花指、剑指等手势动作,并带领大家体验云步走法和水袖甩动技巧。学生们兴致勃勃地参与其中,课堂气氛热烈,文化氛围浓厚。

教学环节之后,汪茶英老师与蔡芸老师联袂表演了采茶戏经典剧目《十八相送》选段。两人唱腔优美、身段灵动,赢得阵阵掌声。

随后,来自巴基斯坦的学生萨得(MUHAMMAD SAAD YAQOOB休曼(HUMA SULTAN受邀上台体验采茶服饰。休曼化身俏皮可爱的姑娘;萨得则大胆挑战男扮女装,体验了《贵妃醉酒》中的装扮,引得全场欢笑与掌声不断。

萨得兴奋地表示:这对我来说是一次全新的体验,希望下次我能扮演男子。我深深感受到了瑞昌采茶戏作为非物质文化遗产的魅力,也更加热爱中国文化了。

休曼也高兴地说:以前只在电视上看到过采茶戏,今天自己亲身体验了,这套服装真的很漂亮。

本次戏曲课堂让国际学生零距离接触了瑞昌采茶戏这一地方非遗艺术,进一步激发了他们对中华传统文化的兴趣与认同,成为九江学院国际文化交流实践中的一道亮丽风景线。

瑞昌采茶戏是源自江西省瑞昌市的传统戏曲形式,被列为地方非物质文化遗产。该剧种以生动的表演、独特的唱腔及浓郁的茶文化地域特色而著称。

Foreign Students Meet Traditional Opera: Ruichang Tea Picking Opera Wins International Hearts

JIUJIANG, China – May 8, 2026 – The Faculty of International Studies of Jiujiang University, in partnership with the Jiujiang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism and the Jiujiang Municipal Research (Intangible Cultural Heritage) Center, hosted a distinctive "Opera Classroom – Ruichang Tea Picking Opera" showcase this afternoon. The event, held in Classroom 4 of the Jingzhi Building, brought together 150 faculty members and students, with international students taking center stage to experience the charm of this traditional Chinese opera form.

Ms. Zhu Xiaojing, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of International Studies, presided over the event. Ms. Wang Chaying, the municipal-level inheritor of Ruichang Tea Picking Opera, delivered an engaging and accessible introduction to the art form, covering its history, costumes and makeup, performance techniques, and efforts toward innovative preservation. She then invited students on stage to learn traditional gestures such as the "orchid palm," "orchid finger," and "sword finger," as well as the "cloud step" and water sleeve movements. International students eagerly joined the hands-on session, contributing to a warm and culturally vibrant atmosphere.

Following the instructional segment, Ms. Wang Chaying and Ms. Cai Yun performed an excerpt from the classic Tea Picking Opera Eighteen Farewells. Their melodious singing and graceful movements drew enthusiastic applause from the audience. Subsequently, two international students from Pakistan—Muhammad Saad Yaqoob and Huma Sultan—were invited on stage to try on Tea Picking Opera costumes. Ms. Sultan wore opera makeup and attire, transforming into a lively and charming young lady. Mr. Yaqoob, in a creative twist, cross-dressed as a woman to experience the costume of The Drunken Concubine, eliciting laughter and warm applause from the crowd.

Mr. Muhammad Saad Yaqoob shared his excitement: "This was a completely new experience for me. I hope next time I can play a male role. I truly feel the charm of Ruichang Tea Picking Opera as an intangible cultural heritage and have fallen even more in love with Chinese culture."

Ms. Huma Sultan added: "I had only seen Tea Picking Opera on television before. Now that I have experienced it myself, I can say this costume is really beautiful."

The "Opera Classroom" activity provided international students with a rare, close-up encounter with Ruichang Tea Picking Opera, a local intangible cultural heritage art form. It also furthered their interest in and appreciation for traditional Chinese culture, marking a vibrant addition to the international cultural exchange initiatives at Jiujiang University.
