Reminder for SUMMER Vacation

Please be informed that the Faculty of International Studies will be closed for SUMMER Vacation from 1 July, 2025 to 29 August, 2025. The first CLASS in classroom of next semester is 1 September, 2025. You are required to be back Jiujiang University and to be prepared for Fall Semester Study before 31 August, 2025. Students who fail to return school on time and show up in the class shall be deemed as ABSENTEEISM.

If you wish to travel outside of the Jiujiang area during Summer Vacation, it is compulsory that you Inform the Faculty of International Studies beforehand to allow FIS to contact you for emergency. Ask for permission and fill in Application Form for Leave of International Students, print out and sign, process the procedure step by step. Contacting and confirming with your parents is requisite for Long Leave.
Every students are requested to follow dormitory rules all the time: NO COOKING, NO SOMOKING, NO BULLYING, NO FOOLING. To facilitate students’ daily life, the Public Kitchen will be open during Summer Vacation. Please check the INSTRUCTION for the Use of Public Kitchen

Please take care of your belongings in your bedrooms, do not leave or spread stuff in your bedroom and put all your belongings into suitcase or cabinet and lock them. Repair or maintaining the bedroom will be arranged during Summer Vacation. Please give one replicate key to Hostel Manager, otherwise your LOCK will be replaced with a new LOCK (10 Yuan RMB paid by the residents).

6. Observing Social Etiquette and Public Order in China
1. All students should clear school fees before 25 August, 2025
Those who do not clear the school fees (tuition & accommodation for academic year 2025-2026) by the due date (25 August) will be regarded as:
1) Giving up study at Jiujiang University, and residence permit cancellation may be imposed;
2) Forfeiting the qualification on the Application for the 2025 Jiangxi Provincial Government Scholarship (JXGS);
3) Being cleared out of the hostel and not allowed to attend classes (marked absenteeism).
2. Please utilize the 60 days in Summer Vacation to get prepared for HSK TEST and Make-up EXAM or re-exam.
1)18 Oct. is the 3rd Test Date of HSK and 8 Oct. is the Deadline of Test Registration. HSK 4 SCORE REPORT & TEST RESULT is compulsory to apply for the Provincial scholarships. Those who haven’t got the related HSK report or required score will be imposed restrictions on further Medical Courses Study unless get HSK passed.
2)Make-up Exam (off-line only) will be arranged for 2021, 2022 batch who fail in this semester final exam in early September.

1) Reporting Vacation Plans
Please inform your supervisor about your vacation plans and keep in touch during the holiday. If you encounter any difficulties, promptly seek help from your supervisor. Please return to campus by 31 August to prepare for the new semester.
2) Holiday Safety Tips
(1) Personal Safety
Protect your health and well-being, avoid playing in dangerous places, and seek medical attention at public hospitals (Jiujiang University Affiliated Hospital 0792 2180120) if you feel unwell.
(2) Traffic Safety
Comply with traffic rules, do not drive without a license, and do not drive after drunk or drive under the illness. Wear a helmet when riding non-motorized vehicles and use the designated lanes. Use legitimate and legal transportation.
(3) Preventing Telecom Fraud
Avoid greed and prevent scams. Do not chat with strangers online, do not believe in any investment, cashback, or prize-winning information, do not click on unknown links, do not scan unknown QR codes, and do not transfer money to anyone. If you encounter a scam, report it to your class supervisor immediately.
(4) Prohibition of Illegal Loans
Avoid impulsive spending. If you run out of money, contact your parents promptly. Do not engage in illegal loans or pawn your passport. Protect your personal identity information.
(5) Safeguarding Personal Belongings
Keep your mobile phone, computer, wallet, passport, and other valuables safe to prevent loss or theft.
4. Complying with University Rules and Regulations
1) Schedule Adherence
Follow the schedule, return to the dormitory before 11 PM, and do not stay out overnight without permission.
2) Fire Safety
Smoking, cooking, using high-power electrical appliances like "fast heaters," and using open flames or flammable and explosive materials are strictly prohibited in dormitories.
3) Management of Non-motorized Vehicles
Park non-motorized vehicles properly and do not bring batteries into the dormitory for charging.
4) Alcohol is strictly prohibited in any place.
Don't go to bars and other places. Behave civilized during the holidays, follow social norms, avoid disturbing residents with noise, and do not disrupt social order.

5.Observing Laws and Regulations
1) Illegal Residence During summer vacation
If you travel or visit friends in China, you must register your accommodation with the local police station within 24 hours. Overstaying your visa or residence permit is illegal, so please renew them promptly.
2) Illegal Employment
Any behavior involving receiving remuneration is considered illegal employment.
3) Theft
The unlawful possession of public or private property constitutes theft, and serious cases will result in criminal detention and imprisonment.
4) Drug-related Crimes
Substances such as marijuana, methamphetamine, opium, cocaine, and heroin are classified as drugs and are harmful to health. The production, transport, sale, and use of drugs are subject to legal consequences and will result in expulsion from school.
5) Provoking Troubles
Creating disturbances in public places, causing serious disorder, chasing or intercepting others, insulting or intimidating others, forcefully taking or damaging public or private property, and severely disrupting social order constitute the crime of provocation and will be legally punished.
6) Compliance with Other Laws
Observe all other Chinese laws and regulations.

Behave in a civilized manner during the holidays, follow social norms, avoid disturbing residents with noise, and do not disrupt social order. Strictly restrain your behavior.
